World Mental Health Day: Regular Massage & Wellbeing Treatments

World Mental Health Day: Regular Massage & Wellbeing Treatments

Last week, we had World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October. An initiative in the global calendar that aims to collectively bring forth the conversation around mental health. This year’s theme was ‘It’s Time To Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace’ – aiming to highlight the importance of businesses taking action to prevent risks to mental health & support mental health at work.

In light of this conversation, we wanted to discuss how regular spa treatments, such as massage, holistic therapies, and beauty treatments can support mental health & wellbeing.

How Can Regular Spa Treatments help with managing Mental Health?

Massage Treatments:

Massage Treatments for Mental Health
It comes at no surprise that massage treatments can lower stress levels. Massage therapy can tap into the parasympathetic nervous system to support relaxation and sleep.
The power of touch should not be underestimated, studies have shown that massage techniques, involving applying soothing pressure to parts of the body, help alleviate mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression. Regular massage treatments can improve mood, reset circadian rhythms to promote better sleep, mental state and decrease hormones associated with increasing anxiety.
Massage Treatments we recommend at Beauty Secrets to support your mental health include a Hot Stone Massage, Aromatherapy, & Swedish Massage.

Spa Treatments & Holistic Therapies:

Holistic Therapy for Mental Health
At Beauty Secrets, we have expertly trained therapists that provide a carefully curated selection of holistic therapies to support your needs. A popular treatment to support your mental health journey is Reiki. Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing practice that promotes well-being and stress relief through relaxation techniques. The session involves combining these techniques with energy healing practices to encourage your body’s natural meditative state which helps alleviate symptoms of stress, depression, & anxiety.

Beauty Treatments:

Sometimes, a simple action can have a lasting effect. Carving out time to focus on yourself can boost your endorphin levels, leaving you feeling refreshed and in a better mood. This looks vastly different from person to person, but for some, treating yourself to a facial, nail appointment, or spa treatment could be the small step towards making your day a little brighter.
At Beauty Secrets, we offer courses of beauty treatments, saving you 10% when buying in a package of 6 and 12. For this month only, we are offering an extra 10% off this already discounted price (valid until 31/10/2024). An ideal way to ground your schedule with intentional self-care time.
